Preschool in a Christian Environment
A Great Place for Great Kids to Learn and Grow!
Mount Olive Lutheran Church offers a morning preschool with a variety of classes for children ages two to four. We feature certified teachers and small classes with an emphasis on personal relationships with you and your child. Come see the difference small classes and a warm, caring, Christian environment can make!
Our curriculum is literature-based and centers around the innovative program called Zoo-phonics. Your child will also learn Bible stories, attend chapel and learn to live out Jesus’ commandment to love one another.
All of our classes meet from 9:00 a.m. to noon during the school year. Four-year-olds attend Mondays-Thursdays with a special enrichment time until 1:00 on Wednesdays. These “Wild Wednesdays” will be a day to bring a lunch and enjoy a rotation of classes including Spanish, cooking, science and drama. Two-year-olds attend on Mondays and Wednesdays and three-year-olds attend on Tuesdays and Thursdays with both classes invited to attend an optional Fun Friday class. The Fun Friday class is also open to any two- or three-year-old in the community who might like to attend just one day a week.
| Your two- or three-year-old child is invited to attend Fun Fridays from 9:00 a.m. until noon. A Fun Friday class is packed with extra play and different kinds of art projects. Your child can just attend on Fridays or add it to a regular weekday class. |
Kindergarten Kamp

Every summer, we offer a camp for rising kindergarteners called Kindergarten Kamp.
Get your child ready for that all important first day of kindergarten! Kindergarten Kamp is designed for kids entering kindergarten in the fall. We help prepare your child for the new things that he or she will experience at “big school.”
Kids will
- Review preschool skills that will be tested in kindergarten with games and fun activities
- Eat snacks on real lunch trays with cartons of milk they will learn to open
- Tour a real school bus and learn about bus safety
- Have fun!
This summer kamp will be held August 5-9, 2013.

About the Preschool Director
Krista Bernthal is the director of the preschool. She is a certified teacher with nine years of experience teaching first grade in South Carolina. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University and has many graduate hours from USC. After her nine years of teaching, she spent the next eight years at home raising her four children. She got back into education by helping Mount Olive Lutheran Church start this preschool in 2007.
